What’s your story?

I was very fortunate to have been born into a family of climbers. My grandfathers from both sides were pioneers in traditional climbing and mountaineering in South Africa. My parents both are climbers and they introduced me to climbing since I could walk. My childhood was spent being taken up multi-pitches, however I took a break from climbing during my teenage years. It wasn’t until 2002 where I was introduced to indoor climbing,

which I hadn’t been exposed to before. I started with route climbing and climbing to me was more of a social time. It wasn’t until I discovered bouldering a few years later that I really got psyched to train harder and get stronger! I have recently been the Australian Lead & Bouldering National Champion and have represented Australia many times in international competitions, including World Cups. I am currently pregnant with my first

child, a son. I am excited to get back training and to get my son climbing as soon as he can.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

When I'm not climbing, I’m working as a physiotherapist or in our climbing gym. I love planning trips whether it be local trips to the Grampians or international trips. I enjoy getting out into the bush- hiking, canyoning, or running. I also enjoy catching up with family and friends.

What is your favorite aspect of climbing?

I love climbing for all of its aspects. I love that it takes you to some amazing places around the world, you meet interesting people along the way and it motivates you to train harder to achieve your goals. It is the social aspect that also makes it such a fun sport.

What’s your most memorable climbing experience?

My most memorable climbing experience was winning the Australian Boulder Nationals in 2014. It was a major goal of mine and I had worked really hard to get there.  It all came down to the final boulder and I was the only one to top it placing me in 1st place. It was a very memorable experience.

Trip History

Japan & China- May 2015

Travelled to Japan and China to compete in 2 Boulder World Cups. Both comps were fantastic and I was happy with how I climbed.

France & Germany- September 2015

I didn't compete in the World Championships this year as I was 4months pregnant. However climbed in local gyms and in Fontainebleau.

Europe & North America- April to June 2014, and August 2014

This was my first experience competing in the Boulder World Cup circuit. I travelled to many places (China, Azerbaijan, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, USA and France). In the 10 weeks I competed in 5 World Cups, my best result was 27th. During this time I also sent a couple of weeks bouldering in Fontainebleau in France.

Travelled to Europe to compete in the Rockmaster Qualification 2014 in Arco, Italy and the GORETEX Be a Rockstar Boulder Jam 2014 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Europe & South Africa- April to July 2013

I spent a few weeks bouldering in Fontainebleau, France. And returned to Rocklands, South Africa, for 5 weeks.

Europe & South Africa- April to July 2012

This was my first time bouldering in Switzerland. Unfortunately the weather was a bit miserable for most of our trip but it was still very enjoyable.

This was also my first time bouldering in Rocklands, South Africa, which was an amazing experience.
